The Octopus Bar is built for good times with good company. Whether you’re planning a killer birthday bash, wedding after-party, bachelorette party, corporate event, team outing or just a spontaneous get-together, our Wallingford bar offers the atmosphere, craft cocktails and food to make it legendary.
Groups of 10 or more can reserve space throughout the night—including after 10PM on Fridays and Saturdays—because some parties are just getting started.
Walk-ins are welcome! Reservations are NOT required, but if you’re coming with a larger group of 10 or more, give us a heads up and we’ll reserve your space.

FAQs
Do I need a reservation?
No, walk-ins are always welcome! Reservations are NOT required, but if you’re coming with a group of 10 or more, give us a heads-up by filling out our online reservation form, and we’ll reserve your space.
Is there a cover charge?
Most weekly events have no cover charge. Trivia, Karaoke, Sip + Sketch, Baby Powder and HeadSpin are free to attend. Bingo is free to enter, but cards are $1 each or 25 for $20; show your free Eventbrite ticket for one complimentary card. Smash tournament buy-ins and any special-event covers are listed with the event.
Is there a cancellation fee?
We do not charge for normal group reservations. If you are scheduling a party or group event that involves a minimum spend for a full buy-out, any cancellation fees will be explicitly stated in your event agreement.
Is there a patio or outdoor seating? Are dogs allowed?
The Octopus Bar has two outdoor patios for guests 21+. The Salty Shack has a separate all-ages patio with no alcohol service. Friendly dogs are welcome until 9PM; please check with our team when you arrive.
Do you allow children to dine inside?
No, The Octopus Bar is strictly a 21+ venue at all times. A valid physical ID (driver's license, state ID, or passport // no vertical ID's please) is required for entry at the door, even for early evening events.
The Salty Shack has outdoor seating and offers kid-friendly Lil' Mateys Meals, available for pick-up or at the window during walk-up hours.
How early should we arrive for Monday Trivia?
Sign-ups usually open 30 minutes before the official start time of Trivia. To secure a good table for your crew, aim to arrive at least 30-45 minutes early. For more details, see our events calendar.
