Yes! Groups of 10+ can reserve space during regular public hours with no reservation fee or food and beverage minimum. The bar stays open to everyone. Tell us your date, arrival time and estimated headcount, and we’ll confirm the plan with you.

Tell us which area you have in mind and we’ll help find a fit for your group. Space and timing depend on the night’s events; an area may be needed later for a DJ or other programming. A free reservation uses our normal casual setup: guests order at the bar. A dedicated bartender or server is a separate arrangement that needs to be discussed in advance.

No. Everyone can order from The Salty Shack’s regular menu. If you’d prefer food ready for the group, ask about our hot pans and sandwich or wrap platters. We’ll help you choose what makes sense for your headcount and timing. Let us know about dietary needs when planning.

Absolutely. Check our current Happy Hour menu and events calendar, then tell us when you’d like to arrive. We’ll confirm where your group can gather and whether the space needs to change as the evening gets going.

A full buyout gives your 21+ group five hours of exclusive use, with the venue closed to the public for the evening. Food from The Salty Shack and drinks count toward your agreed minimum. The space is ADA accessible; microphone, projector/TV, music use and stage are included. Karaoke, a DJ or a band can be booked separately. We have approved karaoke and DJ vendors and can discuss other vendors in advance.

For October 2026–January 2027, five-hour food and beverage minimums are:

A 22% service charge and applicable sales tax are additional. The service charge goes entirely to employees working your event. Any unspent portion of the minimum remains due; orders above it are additional. Each additional hour increases the minimum by $500. Groups above 150 require special arrangements, with a maximum of 200.

Send your date, estimated headcount, preferred hours and budget through the inquiry form. We’ll confirm availability and send an agreement with your event’s terms. Cancellation terms depend on the booking and are stated in that agreement. A credit card authorization form is used for cancellation only; a card must also be presented at the event to open and settle the tab.

Yes. The Octopus Bar is 21+, including group reservations and private events. Everyone must bring valid identification.

Either works. Guests can run their own tabs, or you can cover some or all of the group’s drinks with a hosted tab. Let us know the dollar limit you have in mind so we can arrange when guests switch to individual tabs. Draft beer pitchers and cocktail carafes are also available—see our drink menu.
